Seafood Producers Cooperative is North America’s oldest fishermen’s cooperative.
A fishermen’s co-op allows us small boat hook and line fishermen the opportunity to better market our fish and ensure a high quality product for our customers. SPC fish have the most direct path from boat to plate because we the fishermen are in charge and take pride in our commitment to quality.
Our existence depends on ensuring the maximum benefits for our 550+ members: traditional small boat hook and line fishermen who roam the waters of the North Pacific in search of wild salmon, halibut, yelloweye, black cod and albacore. Since 1944, everything we have done is to ensure that our fishermen members can stay true to traditional hook and line fishing methods that not only bring a higher quality product to our customers’ plates but allow our fishermen to continue fishing for generations to come. Our quality standards ensure our longevity as an organization.
This video will introduce you to our fishermen members and the fish handling techniques they use to ensure a quality product from boat to plate.

The SPC difference:
SPC is a cooperative: Our team of over 500 premier hook & line fishermen troll the icy-cold, pristine waters of Alaska, harvesting their catch in the open ocean at their peak of quality—one fish at a time.
One fish at a time: Each hook & line caught fish is handled individually, dressed and iced (or frozen) as soon as it is on board ensuring the ultimate in quality and freshness. Learn more about us.
We know seafood: Over 65 years of production, processing, and marketing expertise give SPC customers the confidence of knowing their seafood needs will be provided for completely and efficiently.
We are committed to sustainability: SPC participates in fisheries that are managed wisely to ensure the long-term sustainability of wild and natural fish stocks as well as the economic stability of coastal communities. SPC’s Alaska caught products are all produced in sustainable fisheries. Alaska salmon is recognized by the FAO based Responsible Fisheries Management standard. Halibut, Sablefish and Albacore Tuna are recognized by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) as sustainable fisheries. All of SPC’s products are listed as “Best Choices” by the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch.
You can expect quality from us: All of our fish are processed under rigid standards and procedures strictly controlled by our approved HACCP Plan. Our Sitka, Alaska facility is Kosher certified and can provide you with Kosher certified Sablefish, Halibut and troll caught King, Coho and Keta (Chum) Salmon.
SPC is proud to serve wholesalers, food service organizations, retailers, smokers and distributors throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia.
