OUR MISSION IS QUALITY CENTERED
& FISHERMEN FOCUSED
Our mission: We represent small boats, independent fishermen, and co-op values. With great pride in our company, our communities, and every fish we touch, we are committed to producing the finest quality seafood.
It’s easy to think of fish as a school. But in the end, each one is an individual and has a life history and story. By catching fish on hook and line, one fish at a time, our fishermen see that each fish is unique in its own way. We believe each fish deserves to be treated with a singular devotion to quality and the respect due to a wild creature, all the way to the consumer.
In the same way that our fishermen consistently give individual attention to the fish they catch, our service is tailored to our customers’ needs. At SPC, our people and our focus on quality and service are the difference.
Quality has been the cornerstone of our cooperative for over 75 years.
Quality, for us, not only means great tasting, well-handled fish delivered with care to our customers. Our tradition of quality also hinges on serving the greater good by being stewards of the resource so that future generations of fishermen can deliver quality seafood.
Nobody has a closer connection to our waters than hook and line fishermen. Living by our motto, “One Hook, One Fish at a Time,” not only guarantees that our customers receive quality seafood but safeguards our fisheries for future generations of cooperative members. It’s important that our grandchildren can fish the same way that we do. That is the very definition of sustainability.
Alaska seafood is wild and pure, responsibly managed for continuing abundance.
Alaska has pioneered the standard for sustainable, eco-friendly fisheries management. Alaska’s fish populations are managed for protection against over-fishing and sources of habitat damage. By proactively ensuring a healthy, wild and sustainable harvest, Alaska is protecting its superior seafood for future generations.
Alaska is the only state with a mandate for sustainable seafood written right into its State Constitution.
